AMI President Christopher Lamb and Board member Dr Susie Costello were honoured to be invited to speak at the celebration of the birthday organised by the Burmese community in Melbourne on 17 June. The function was attended by many people from Myanmar’s different ethnicities in the Melbourne area and the speeches delivered emphasised Suu’s role in bringing democracy to the country and setting it on a path towards a bright future.
